Fundraising allows Troop 218 to buy much needed equipment such as tents, stoves, lanterns, etc. We also purchase supplies and refreshments for our two yearly Court of Honor ceremonies, Eagle Scout ceremonies, and special troop holiday and year end pizza parties. Other events and overnights can have additional fees for participation, lodging and food if we do not have enough funding to cover them.
We hold fundraisers each year such as – Car Wash’s during summer months and Candy/Soda/Water Sales at the South Huntington School Budget vote in May and Election day in November as well as the Council wide Popcorn Sales Fundraiser in the fall.
We ask scouts to volunteer at each fundraiser. This will ensure we have enough manpower available and that the event will be a success. Also, it never hurts to have essay writer parents around to supervise and help out if necessary.
